We were situated close to the Bialoweiza National Park in North Eastern Poland and the World’s largest European wild bison habitat.
It is Europe’s last well-preserved fragment of a primeval forest and was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979

Battling Buzzards, taken from a hide near Bialoweiza. Our target species was the White Tailed Eagle, which unfortunately appeared in a distant tree but decided not to pay a closer visit.

For these photos we had to enter the hide an hour before sunrise and stay until an hour after sunset. By doing this, the birds wouldn't associate the hide with humans.

Buzzard looking straight into lens. I had to manually focus here because of the heavy snowfall.

Bison roam freely here, shortly after this image was taken, a train came through.
